ECHA is launching a consultation to support the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) in adopting an opinion on Copper and its inorganic compounds in accordance with either Directive 2004/37/EC on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens, mutagens or reprotoxic substances at work (CMRD) or Directive 98/24/EC on the protection of the health and safety of workers from the risks related to chemical agents at work (CAD).
The opinion of RAC on the scientific assessment of OELs is to support the Commission and provides a scientific advice to take action on the relevant amendment of the above Directive. In support of the Commission's request, ECHA has prepared a scientific OEL report for consideration by RAC, which is now subject of this Consultation.
