Public consultation on a derogation request for the restriction of PFOA, its salts and PFOA-related substances (entry 68 of Annex XVII to REACH)

Following a request from ECHA's Executive Director (Article 77(3) (c) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH)), ECHA is launching a public consultation to support the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) and the Committee for Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) in adopting an opinion on a derogation request for the restriction of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), its salts and PFOA-related substances (entry 68 of Annex XVII to REACH). This request for the opinions of RAC and SEAC is to support the Commission by providing scientific advice, to take action on this derogation request.

To assist RAC and SEAC in their mandate of 23 May 2018, in drawing up an opinion on the derogation request, ECHA has prepared an analysis for consideration by RAC and SEAC. The report prepared by ECHA is subject for Public Consultation. Please note that the final opinions of RAC and SEAC will be published on ECHA’s website by 1 December 2018.
